Bx Interview: Anne Timss ⚡️

Anne Timss takes care of business. Literally. This Seattle-based MUA not only services exciting bridal and commercial clients, she, along with Kat St. John, started Paper Dolls NW, a collective of talented stylists (check out their insta for some major inspo), and the podcast Beauty Tips as BS, a snappy podcast about all things beauty.

We caught up with Anne in Seattle to get the scoop on all things wedding.

Bx: What is the most sought after bridal "look" requested by your clients?

AT: Very clean, glowy, radiant natural look.

Bx: What products do you use to achieve this?

AT: My go-to’s:

  • Skin prep: Dr. Jart hyaluronic sheet mask & Alcone Dew Day oil

  • Tom Ford eyeshadow quad in ‘nude dip’

  • Nars ‘Orgasim’ blush

Bx: What do you do if you disagree with a client's request? How do you guide them with your expertise to a good fit for them?

AT: I’m really straight forward. I tell them, “I’m here to create a look for you that’s a collaboration and based on your beauty. These photos will be looked at for generations.” And then I get technical on them and steer them away from ‘trendy’ looks to something more classic and complimenting to their natural beauty.

Bx: Who inspires you?

AT: I love Charlotte Tilbury. Her makeup has such soft lines.

Bx: What products are you loving right now?

AT: I’m currently loving:

  • Mamonde Petal Spa Oil to Foam Cleanser (removes everything gently and effectively and smells wonderful)

  • Hourglass Extreme Caution Mascara (it’s water resistant so it won’t move while I’m working, and still allows for a fuller and fluffier lash line)

  • Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Quad (the colors are divine)
