Clean Beauty Guide for Earth Day
We can all do our part to help reduce, reuse, and recycle- even when it comes to your beauty routine and kits. Here are some of our Earth Day tips to join Team Green:
Look for recycled and recyclable packaging from brands. A number of beauty brands are making the switch and will proudly boast about their recycled materials on the product. Juice Beauty is in the midst of changing all products over to recycled plastic containers. Brands like Aether Beauty are plastic-free use cardboard that can be recycled or composted.
Sustainable beauty is on the rise with brands investing in re-fillables. La Bouche Rouge and Kjaer Weis are leading the charge with luxe cosmetics, while Kiehl’s and L’Occitane offer refillable pouches for haircare.
Chemical-free or non-toxic products are better for you and the environment. Look out for oxybenzone and octinoxate which can kill coral and damage coral reefs. Choose zinc and titanium physical blocker sunscreens instead. Our favorite is Suntegrity.
